The old cable ferry discontinued running after 140 years of use in 2001. Hindmarsh Island is very unique as it has fresh water on its northern shores and seawater on its southern shores, perfect for any fishing enthusiast. Here on the Island is the starting point of the spectacular ‘Coorong Cruise’. It also boasts the largest marina in the Southern Hemisphere.
